Is Dynasty Warriors finally back? It's certainly starting to look that way, because the recent Dynasty Warriors: Origins demo has been downloaded over 1 million times.
Said demo features a sizeable battle that takes place early on in the game, showcasing the action title's impressive scale and overhauled combat systems. From what we've seen, the demo's been well received by fans of the series — which is a big deal when you remember how badly Dynasty Warriors 9 dropped the ball.
Indeed, franchise enthusiasts have had to wait a long time for Koei Tecmo to recover from the 2018 title, which was panned by critics and many longtime players. By comparison, Dynasty Warriors: Origins feels so much more polished and focused — even in its demo form.
Given the demo's popularity, it's fair to assume that Koei Tecmo's got a hit on its hands, ahead of Origins' 17th January release date on PS5. Here's hoping that the full game lives up to expectations, because the demo really does show a lot of promise.
Have you tried the Dynasty Warriors: Origins demo? What do you think of it? Are you looking forward to the finished release? Start mowing your way through thousands of generics in the comments section below.

I've played the demo five times now. I still have some reservations about the game, but this is still the most optimistic I've felt about a Musou project in a long time.
I guess I’m just over DW games. I’ve not played since part 5 and didn’t enjoy the demo. So many more games to play anyway.
The demo was fun. I'm just worried about the allied AI being terrible like in the demo and if having to break every officers guard/stamina bar down every battle will get tiring.
The game does look fun so I'll be playing it in January regardless but I do have my reservations.
Glad it is doing well.im a fan of the series. I don't have time for the demo, but from what I've seen it's promising.
@AhmadSumadi
Nailed it
Tried it for about 15 minutes, and then uninstalled the demo.
I still can't get into this genre.
I tried it and wasn't impressed.
It's a series that is typically easy to get into. But this one was overloaded with mechanics in a single character. Just not what i want from a DW game. I like my army of officers that each have a different moveset.
I had more fun than I expected
I havent tried it yet, but will do.
DF released a very short opinion video on it which sounded quite glowing from JL, who had played it on Pro.
Given some of the later DW games, I was quite concerned about this one technically, but it sounds like it may be OK here.
It was really impressive. Day 1 for sure. Really hyped about it.
I'm old I stopped playing DW games after DW3 on PS2 lol
Hopefully, this interest turns into sales.
DW 8XL or complete is the holy grail for me i never really played much more after that.
