Like asking the ocean nicely if it wouldn't mind holding the tide back, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi has appealed to modders and players to show some restraint, just once. Sadly, if our time on the internet has taught us anything, his pleas will almost certainly fall on deaf ears. When the PC version arrives on January 25th, the associated Nexus Mods page will, in all likelihood, become a den of debauched insanity.
Square Enix is not providing official mod support for Rebirth, so, like Remake, these imaginative creations will remain the exclusive province of PC gamers. Hamaguchi made the plea to the Epic Games Store (thanks, IGN), but deep down, we think he knows: "We respect the creativity of the modding community and welcome their creations... Though we ask modders not to create or install anything offensive or inappropriate."
Do you imagine Rebirth will be the game that dissuades modders from creating abominations like this? Let us know in the comments section below.

Good luck with that!
Giving the amount of 3D porn that already exists of Tifa that ship has well and truly sailed 🤣🤣🤣
Modders showing restraint? Hah! That'll be the day! Prepare for the nude mods!
I mean, they can ASK for restraint…doesn’t mean it’s going to HAPPEN, but ask away!
Lol the day Rebirth release for PC, that will be the day Italian senate get more materials to fap 🤣
He says that but I expect Tifa will return to the Italian Senate within days of the PC release.
Any PC modders reading this, can you please make a mod where every door texture in the game is replaced with the awful door texture of Cloud’s door in FFVII Remake? Think of the comedy.
@PuppetMaster Damn it, I've been beaten to it!
Yeah, that will stop them
Probably just said that as an obligation, knowing full well it’ll be beach-ball city before you can say “jiggle physics”.
Never underestimate the internet’s unbridled horniness.
Good luck there. You’d have better odds teaching a cat how to juggle.
I mean Aloy was barely an adult in Zero Dawn and the most popular mods are bikini and nude mods. PC gamers are perverts and if that was a concern SE should not release their game on the platform like Vanillaware.
Something something Italian senate
Modders are gonna have fun with this game on PC.
@AinsleyE lmao I completely forgot about that 🤣
@DennisReynolds How do you know that?
@Enuo As a certain dwarf in Game of Thrones says "i drink and i know things" 😂😂😂
There’s a certain RULE for this stuff. These mods have been pointless for a while now.
There is a higher chance of Concord being a success than modders not making R18 models.
Cannot wait for the Space Hopper mod.
We’ll be playing as CJ with our faithful mutt Thomas the Tank Engine in no time
Theres gonna be T & A all over that beach day 1.... Googles "how to build a PC"
That's like asking water not to be wet.
Personally I don't find naked ladies "offensive or inappropriate".
What would be so offensive that they would ask for restraints?
They can beg and plead on their knees all they want, that won't stop anyone.
Im not sure publicly asking for restraint was a good idea...
Some may see it as a challenge...
That's the rallying cry for all modders... cynically, I assume he knows this and thinks it will help sales.
The only mod i ever used while playing Remake on PC was one that tried (unsuccessfully) to fix the stutterfest that the game was, like most UE4 games on PC are. I'm glad that i don't have to go through this kind of headache again on consoles
They cannot stop Rule 34.
In fact, asking modder's to hold back, is just going to have the Streisand Effect
"Oh no, nudity, how horrible"
But if someone made a "Brutal Doom" styled gorefest, of the battles (which would be fun), then it's no problem.
Strange world we live in, when some people fear a naked body, but not blood and violence 😂
After what that butcher did to the trophy list, I hope modders do literally anything and everything that pisses Hamaguchi off.
The end results are gonna make stellar blade look like a Disney movie
Show some restraint?

The modding scene for that game is gonna be a hive of scum and villainy within like four minutes.
The game is called "Final Fantasy". I think it's fitting. Also the internet exists, so does rule 34.
tbh it is a little like the cannabis dealer asking the cocaine dealer to ease off a bit. Sorry but its obviously intended to be sexually attractive in the first place, just as some other games are. I'm not saying being sexually attractive is a bad thing; the world (despite what some wokies think) would literally die if people weren't sexually attracted to each other - but lets not kid ourselves.
When you ask people not to do something online they're going to do it lol
If the devs did not want NSFW mods then they would not have made their characters so attractive. just my 2 cents.
I wonder if the devs of FF ever take a peek at rule 34?
Well, I encourage the modders to go crazy with it. There. Balance restored!
As he ever seen or heard of Skyrim and the modding scene in that game
LOL! maybe even LMAO!
There will be about a thousand nude Tifa mods within the first 30 minutes guarantee
Dear Internet, we at square enix would like to remind you, with sufficient plausible deniability, that the upcoming pc release of this game is a a deviant art showcase.
Please finally buy this game.
Thank you for watching!
I bought the double pack on pc, playing through the first part again for the 4th time lol this time on PC lol. Never finished Rebirth even though I bought the $350 edition lol. That Sephy statue is nice though. I personally am one who has to keep my eyes trained or Romans 1:26 comes into play. I don't get how people can play with nude mods, I would go crazy.
Back on topic. Why even bother, people are going to do what they are going to do on PC. I just hope they actually have proper ultrawide this time, so I don't have to use Flawless Widescreen
I agree. Some of you people are just as bad as Corneo. Also use your skills for something actually good for the world.😞
You can't stop cringe, it is the soul of internet and gaming culture.
