Just preordered the new Dynasty Warriors now it is looking like its a banger. Was tempted to preorder Pirate Yakuza while I was there, but have we had any confirmation of 60 fps on base PS5? I could only seem to find rumours for the Pro, which I don't have.
Picked up a copy of Bleak Faith: Forsaken for just over £20 (physical). It’s a AA souls-like that has a bit of low average review score but when you look a little deeper souls-fans are a lot more positive about it. Reckon I’ll fit with the second group tbh.

@seinfeldfanatic I think you’re in for a real treat when you get your PS5. Really excited for you!
There is a narrative out there that PS5 doesn’t have games but in my opinion there’s loads and loads of great games to choose from. There’s not quite the number of exclusives that PS4 has at this point in its lifespan but there’s still plenty.
Many of the PS5 console exclusives are third or second party exclusives, like the Final Fantasy 7 reimaginings that you referenced. If you’re a fan then definitely FF7 Remake, Rebirth (and Reunion, which I’m playing now) are good to look into. Other console exclusives from outside developers include Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, Helldivers 2, Silent Hill 2, Black Myth Wukong, Final Fantasy XVI, and I think some of the Gacha games are console exclusive but I can’t remember which. I’m probably forgetting a lot of others.
Death Stranding 2 is a third party exclusive coming soon.
As far as Sony first party: Spider-Man 2, Astro Bot, Demon’s Souls Remake, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Returnal, as well as some cross-gen that had PS4 releases too like Horizon Forbidden West, GoW Ragnarok, and Gran Turismo 7.
There’s lots of PS5 Remakes from PS3 or PS4 that have special enhanced PS5 versions like both The Last of Us’s, Uncharted 4 & Lost Legacy, Spider-Man 1, Horizon Zero Dawn…
If you look at multi-platform games then you’ve got oodles of other great games, not necessarily exclusive to PS5, but definitely worthy of playing on it. Like Hogwarts, all the new Resident Evil’s, all the Like a Dragons, Baldur’s Gate 3, Jedi Survivor, SW Outlaws, Dragons Dogma 2, Dragon Age Veilguard, Alan Wake 2, Elden Ring, all the Assassins Creeds, etc.
There’s plenty of indies and smaller games too — darlings like the Balatro, Vampire Survivors, Animal Well, and so forth.
There’s no shortage. The real question is where to start. 😄
One thing you might consider, depending if you have been keeping up on PS4 beforehand or not, is to just get a PS+ Extra subscription when you get your PS5. You’ll have instant access to hundreds of PS4 and PS5 games, many of those listed are included on that service.
Are there specific games or genres that interest you besides the Final Fantasy 7 games?
@seinfeldfanaticStellar Blade, Helldivers 2, Returnal, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Ys VIII, IX & X, God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Demons Souls, Spider-man: Miles Morales, Spider-man 2, Ghost of Tsushima: Directors Cut, Death Stranding: Directors Cut, Horizon Zero Dawn: Remastered, Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Rise of the Ronin, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.
Finally bought a 2nd PS5 controller. The full black controller was the only one they had in stock. Felt so good unboxing the controller. I'm going to finally be able to play It Takes Two with my partner who doesn't like video games. If he likes It Takes Two, I am hoping he does, I will be hyped for him to play Split Fiction in March.
I picked up Darksiders: Warmastered Edition for 4 dollars on sale. I’ve been wanting to try this franchise out for a while and I finally pulled the trigger.
